Lucrecia, Hojo, Ifalna, Hollander, thirty-something years ago. I imagine it’s like - the assistants are sitting around the lab chatting about their weekends, and Gast comes in and is all ‘you kids look so young and happy. Stay there and lemme take a picture’, before Grimoire appears a second later and is like ‘Lucrecia, get your ass off the bench. And why don’t any of you have your labcoats buttoned up? Come on people what are we paying you for?’ etc etc (he’s kidding, of course. If anything Grim thinks the kids should spend less time in the lab, they’re all so pale).

Then years down the track, this photo is one of the few things Gast takes from his office before going on the run with Iffy.

I'm super into the scientists, I am. ;)

No one's quite sure how old Gast is, but if he was head of science dept when Hojo was still a postdoc/research assistant, then I imagine he's a bit older. In any case I have tremendous fun thinking of Gast and Hojo having a mentor/student relationship.

Ifalna, in headcanon, is more than 2000 years old. Headcanon is long and unnecessarily complicated. :)

no but... forgive my ignorance, what is headcanon?! i thought she's able to live for a long time being an ancient and all, but she's only been living for maybe like 20some-30some years until she died?! has she lived for that long before that?! +A+lll

Well, headcanon is just my version of events, basically. :)

I just picked up a lot of emotional investment when Ifalna was telling Gast the story of how the Ancients died out, some 2000 years ago. Almost as if she'd been there personally, y'know?

oh i see haha! i thought maybe she meant most of them died 2000 years ago, but there are a handful of survivers and over the years they all died out and she's the last one. but for her to be pure blood, her parents must be too, assuming their average lifespan is longer at 300(??? hojo did mention they live longer didn't he, can't quite remember), there'd be about 60 of them left 2000 years ago,and i don't think i'm counting for genetic mutations ^^;... ok my head hurts LOL... maybe i'm slighly in denial that the ancients can live for sooooo long LOL... don't mind me... i think your explain make sense too! :D
